LOCAL-FIRST TEXT UTILITIES

Private tools for every writing system.

Your text never leaves this browser. No uploads, accounts, or server processing.

Word segmentation uses your browser’s internationalization engine, with Unicode-safe handling across Latin, CJK, Hangul, Cyrillic, Arabic, Devanagari, and more.

ENCODING TOOLS · LOCAL PROCESSING

Encode Unicode text as Base64 safely

The Base64 Encoder converts text to UTF-8 bytes before producing Base64. That extra Unicode-safe step matters for Korean, Japanese, Arabic, emoji, and other characters that basic Latin-only encoders can corrupt.

COMMON USES

When this tool is useful

  • Create a Base64 representation of a short UTF-8 text value.
  • Prepare text for a data field that explicitly expects Base64.
  • Check how multilingual text round-trips through an encoding workflow.

THREE STEPS

How to use the Base64 Encoder

  1. Enter plain text in any supported writing system.
  2. Select Encode to create the Base64 value in your browser.
  3. Copy the result or test it with the paired Base64 Decoder.

PRIVACY

Your input stays in this browser

The operation runs on your device and does not require the input to be uploaded. Copy and download actions happen only when you choose them. Avoid treating encoded output as encryption, and follow your own security requirements for confidential data.

WORKED EXAMPLE

Base64 Encoder: input and expected result

Input or settings

Hello

Expected result

SGVsbG8=

Five UTF-8 bytes become eight Base64 characters, including one padding character. Unicode input is converted to UTF-8 first.

METHOD & LIMITS

How the Base64 Encoder works

Processing method

TextEncoder converts text to UTF-8 bytes. The browser's btoa function encodes those bytes with the standard Base64 alphabet.

What to review

Base64 is reversible and does not hide secrets. The result uses the standard alphabet and padding, not the URL-safe Base64 variant.

PRACTICAL NOTES

What to know before using it

Is Base64 encryption?

No. Base64 is a reversible representation and does not protect confidential information.

Why does Unicode need UTF-8 handling?

Base64 encodes bytes, so text must first be converted to a consistent byte encoding such as UTF-8.
